2012-2013 DCPS Employee Fringe Benefit Package

In addition to salary, DCPS employees are provided with a competitive fringe benefits package.  The total value of the package varies according to the employees salary, since many of the benefits are calculated based on an employee's base salary. 

The benefits package includes payment by DCPS of the following

  • Employee contribution to the Virginia Retirement System (VRS), calculated at 5% of the employee's monthly salary
  • Premium for employee's life insurance through VRS
  • Annual cost of health insurance excluding employee contribution based on coverage (see below)
