Getting the Most out of Your Email

Did you remember that all of your emails, incoming and outgoing are archived?  If you permanently deleted a message, you can find it!  Go to https://mailarchive.dickenson.k12.va.us and, using your email log in and password, search the archives of your email.  This service has been available only August 2008, so only email sent or received since that time is included.

Important Update for Dickenson.k12.va.us email users

Everyone please follow the hyperlink and create an account for your spam filtering user account.  This basically sends you a notification if it has picked up any unwanted email but of course it will also put a few wanted mail in there as well.  http://tcnoc.com/clientlogin.htm

Once you set this account up, you can login via the website address above.  The Three main functions of this is to Deliver, Whitelist &  Delete.  We can train our system.  Messages that stays in the account over 21 days will automatically deleted.  If you start seeing email that is valid and not categorized as spam it’s a simple one click to “Whitelist” that particular email and you will never experience that issue again.

Below are a few screen shots of where you need to be by following the hyperlink above.

1.  Fill out your email username and password like the above image shows. Then Click “Create New Password””

2.  Click “Get Mail Client Plug-ins Here”  Please download and install this plug-in while your Microsoft Outlook Email Client is not running.
3.  Once this install finishes reopen Outlook and at the top right of your screen you will now see a red box with an x and a green box with a check mark.

After you have set  your account up from the first step at the top and install the mail client plug-in, if you ever get any mail coming into your inbox as
spam or anything vulgar just highlight the message and click the red box as shown in the picture above that is highlighted within the red square.

The green box with the check mark indicates that if any legitimate email you receive is being marked as BULK or SPAM, you will need to highlight those that are good and press the green box with the check mark so the system doesn’t get confused in distinguishing good mail from bad.
