Title I is a federally funded program targeted to meet the needs of students who are at risk of failing or who are not performing on grade level. The program focuses on prevention and intervention. The Title I program in Dickenson County provides Pre-K classrooms, Elementary/Middle School Technology Labs, and Early Literacy Support where students are provided with interventions and preventative tutoring to improve literacy skills.
These programs are part of the NCLB (No Child Left Behind) Act put in place by President Bush to ensure that all children receive a high quality education.
The Annual District Title I Parent Advisory Committee Meeting will be held on Friday May 31, 2013 at 2:00 p.m., at the Title I Parent Resource Center located in Clinchco.
